Meal Plan Like a Boss

Meal Plan Like a Boss

Whether you are a natural born planner or happy just winging it, the idea of cooking and eating whilst on the road may seem slightly daunting or even a little stressful. Keeping everybody fed and happy (especially the driver) whilst out in the wilderness doesn’t have to be a chore, keep things simple. You’ve just picked up the van and you can’t wait to hit the road and start your adventure. But first, grocery shopping...

Moterra Team-Ups: Color The Water

A few months ago, we got the chance to team up with our friends over at Color The Water, a non-profit on a mission to fight racism with joy, by building community in the ocean and offering free surf lessons for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). The outdoor industry as we know is predominately white, so we are excited to promote an organization on a mission to bring more BIPOC into outdoor spaces....

How to: Free Camping on Public Land

Picture this: You roll into your campground for the night after long day spent immersing yourself in the most spectacular scenery our country has to offer. Suddenly you’re assailed by the cacophony of hundreds of tourists, their massive RV’s, screaming children, and bluetooth speakers bouncing you right out of the experience you’ve been looking forward to for months, even years. The semi-functional fire pit and 20’ by 30’ parking space they call a campsite that...

Fortunately, just outside of many National Parks lie miles and miles of National Forests and BLM land, as well as private campgrounds and RV sites. Although these sites are a little farther from the park’s main sights, they usually...

Cozy Winter Camping

We get it, cold temperatures don’t exactly scream “van life.” In fact, we’re proponents of taking van trips to warmer climates, but we also understand that sometimes there is a travel itch to be scratched no matter the season! We get asked often, “Is it too cold to travel in a van in the winter?” Short answer: No. Long answer: No, but we want to make sure you’re fully prepared! While we certainly can’t guarantee...
