Head just a few hours south of San Francisco to the rugged cliffs of Big Sur. Spend six days along the coast; hike to beautiful viewpoints, discover hidden coves, dine atop majestic bluffs, and spot wildlife by kayak. Allow us to secure sites at our favorite picturesque campgrounds as you sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. This trip is perfect as a family adventure, romantic getaway, relaxing vacation, or a hiker’s dream trip. Photograph the marvelous McWay and Limekiln Falls as they plummet or meander into the Pacific.
Relax on Pfeiffer Beach or hunt for sand dollars along Sand Dollar Beach’s 7-mile strip.

2 nights
Pick up your van in San Francisco and head south on the famed Pacific Coast Highway! Explore the charming town of Monterey and the stunning Monterey Peninsula; embark on a whale watch tour, wander Fisherman’s Wharf, dine on uber-fresh seafood and hike to oceanside bluffs. Don’t forget the s’mores!
1 night
Continue down Highway 1 into the heart of Big Sur. Expect stunning views around every turn as you weave your way down the coast; stop for photos by Bixby Bridge, relax on Pfeiffer Beach and hike amongst redwoods, cliffs, and waterfalls.
2 nights
Spend your final two days around Morro Bay on the South Coast, where ancient volcanic rock formations meet the sea. Hike along coastal bluffs, kayak through the Morro Bay National Estuary, explore the historic architecture of San Luis Obispo, and enjoy your final serene nights under the stars.
