The types of coverage offered by Moterra are below.
COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
Damage you do to your Moterra campervan. i.e., any damage to the vehicle in an accident– hood, bumpers, windows, etc.
THIRD PARTY LIABILITY
Damage you do to others’ property or injury to others. i.e. if you were to hit another car, cause damage to that car, and cause injuries to person(s) in that car.
CANCELLATION PROTECTION
Allows additional peace of mind in the event that your plans change within our 45-Day cancellation window.
Important Note: You may NOT be covered by your personal auto policy or credit card to rent our vehicles. Many policies do not cover our vehicles, as they are classified as Class B RVs worth up to $150,000.
Double Check: If you decline our insurance options and the van gets damaged during your rental, your credit card will be charged for the cost of all damages at return, and you will need to make a claim through your own insurance company for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company prior to pick up and ask specifically if your policy includes coverage Class B RV. To make this as easy as possible, we have created a proof of coverage request form that can be submitted to your auto insurance provider.
What is a Collision Damage Waiver?
A CDW provides extra coverage as well as peace of mind. A collision damage waiver is not insurance, rather it’s a contract directly with Moterra, in which we agree not to hold you liable for collision damages to the rented van, beyond a $1,500 deductible. It’s important to note that the vans are valued at $150,000+. As long as renters abide by the terms of the rental agreement, a collision damage waiver eliminates your financial responsibility for collision damage that happens to the campervan outside from the deductible.
The Collision Damage Waiver is not legally required to drive, but is required for anyone who hasn’t provided Moterra with proof of outside collision damage coverage.
Moterra’s CDW is $39 a night, and can be added at check-out in available locations.
What does a Collision Damage Waiver not cover?
A Collision Damage Waiver does not cover any damage where the Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions have been violated. Damage to the campervan where the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement are violated will forfeit any coverage that the Collision Damage Waiver provides. Losses caused from forces outside of a collision (such as vandalism or theft) are not covered.
Third-party damages or injury are also not covered under a Collision Damage Waiver. For a full list of exclusions, please see the Moterra Rental Agreement.
Unlimited Drivers
Anyone over the age of 25 is allowed to drive the vehicle for no additional charge.

Windshield Chip Protection
Any chips to the windshield that can be repaired and chipped sealed upon retune are covered under this protections. This protection will not include chips that have migrated into cracks over 1/2 inch in length.
Full Windshield Protection
Complete coverage over windshield repairs and windshield replacement. (No deductible with Premium insurance).
Breakdown Protection
All services around breakdown maintenance are to be arranged by Moterra at their discretion.
Third Party Liability Coverage Options
You are legally required to have Liability Coverage up to state minimums in order to drive. You may be covered already, under your personal auto policy, credit card, or other travel insurance policy. Neither Moterra Campervans nor Moterra employees are qualified to evaluate the adequacy of your existing insurance coverage- this is up to you.
Moterra offers two types of Liability Coverage- Renters Contingent Liability Coverage (RCLI) which covers you to the minimum liability amount, and Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) which is excess of the state minimums up to $1 million.
Option 1: Full Liability Coverage (RCLI & SLI) up to $1million
Renters Contingent Liability Insurance up to state minimums, and excess Supplemental Liability Insurance up to $1,000,000. Deductible is $500 for RCLI, and $0 for SLI. You may have other insurance (such as, but not limited to, personal Auto insurance) that will be considered secondary insurance to the RCLI policy and the SLI policy will be excess of that or any other applicable insurance policy. Option 2: Renters Contingent Liability Insurance Only (RCLI) up to state minimums.
Also known as Renters Contingency Insurance, this insurance covers you to the legal state minimum liability amount, as seen below. Deductible is $1000. RCLI Insurance brochure: Here
